Beauty at Work
We explore Beauty as a necessary condition for collective flourishing. In partnership with Dr. Brandon Vaidyanathan, whose seminal research anchors this inquiry, we examine how beauty can act as a bridge in an increasingly polarized world. This project curates gatherings for contemplative dialogue across disciplines and worldviews. As part of the initiative, Rohan Routroy serves as a Strategy Fellow at the Institutional Flourishing Lab at The Catholic University of America.

Our time here is finite. Though our impact shouldn’t be. From our lack of responsible action stem the ails we face whether it be the widespread loss of meaning. Screen addiction. Epistemic collapse. The loneliness epidemic. The list goes on. 38 aims to confront these with precise and honest insight. Our collective exists to apply this lens to projects we care about deeply. Projects which serve as a catalyst for human flourishing 38 projects, to be precise. Why 38? Because all things come and go. And we are no exception. Yes, our time here is finite, but our impact won’t be.
Rohan Routroy is driven by working on problems for which language does not yet exist. This stems from his decades-long attempt at overcoming the language barrier between himself and his parents. Rohan believes that through the articulation of the unspoken, we can imagine solutions to the problems that ail us. Previously, Rohan led Brand Strategy at Twitter for eight years, beginning with a small team in Singapore, spearheading Twitter’s growth in China, and eventually overseeing a full-service creative vertical in New York. This journey involved working across 13 countries and partnering with clients like Apple, Target, Chase, LVMH, DJI, ByteDance, OnePlus, and Unilever. His final project at Twitter - leading the effort to legalize cannabis advertising - created a ripple effect throughout the social media industry. London Halls is a researcher and strategist who believes in distilling clear insight that enhances human life. London is data savvy, but insight obsessed: seeking truths in the world’s culture, conversation, and humanity all around us. Her process embodies a balance between a slow & mindful presence, and a wild & explorative play. This juxtaposition exists throughout her life: Mindful mornings embracing her tea routine, followed by the mental release of alpine skiing. Or melodious moments playing her violin after days of rock climbing. London has worked in agency settings, Twitter’s Next team, and most recently as a freelance brand strategist at Airbnb— but she believes this is far less important to know than her interests and life philosophies.
Malithi Gunawardena's graphic design practice is informed by her life-long interests in all the ways that color, form, and language can play together. She enjoys working across a variety of mediums, digital and analog, to create layered and surprising outcomes. Malithi has worked across many disciplines, from her University's publication house to the Sundance Film Festival, and is currently with Wieden + Kennedy New York. There, she is lucky enough to work with a variety of different clients, big and small, good and evil, but prefers those at the intersection of arts, publishing, music, and film. Malithi, above all else, is tremendously interested in working with her hands and telling the truth.
